The 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19, is attracting attention not only for its organization, but also for the extreme prices of tickets on the secondary market.
According to data from FIFA's official resale portal, tickets for the July 19 final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey are listed for up to nearly $2.3 million each. Specifically, four seats in the lower stand, behind one of the goals, are on sale for about $2,299,998.85.
This price level, while unusual, is related to how the secondary market works. FIFA does not set limits on resale prices, but takes a 15% commission from both the seller and the buyer. If these tickets are sold at the listed price, the revenue for the international body could reach around $690,000 for a single ticket.

Other options remain high for most fans. In the same sector, other tickets are selling for up to $207,000, while in the third tier prices range from $138,000 to around $23,000. The cheapest tickets currently available start at just under $11,000.
The decision not to impose price caps has been justified by FIFA as a way to limit sales on external platforms. However, one of the visible effects remains the significant increase in prices, making attendance at the World Cup final a limited opportunity for a very small number of fans.
