Dinamo, the defending champions, managed to secure the final of the Albanian Cup after defeating Vllaznia 0-1 in Shkodër on Thursday. The goal scored by Dejvi Bregu on a counterattack gave success to the team led by Ilir Daja, who will face Egnatia for the trophy on May 13 at the “Air Albania” stadium.
After the match, Dinamo coach Ilir Daja described this victory as an important psychological boost for the team, emphasizing that it came in difficult conditions due to absences.
"Congratulations to the team because the Cup has a different specificity. You can do well, you can crown it. It is a great psychological bonus. The first match was not in our favor, we made mistakes with the balls in the deep and what we had. We felt tired because we have a limited contingent. We have matches in the championship and the Cup. Fatigue and injuries - There will come a time when we will be tired, we have not had the opportunity to rotate. Qardaku and Qefalia are coming from injuries, we intended to defend, especially in the second half. We are glad that we are on the right track. We have amortized the absences we have had. Teixeira had a little difficulty after feeling discomfort in the calf area. We also lost Neziri in training", said Ilir Daja after advancing to the final.
On the other hand, Vllaznia coach Edi Martini focused on the decisive moment of the match, emphasizing that his team could have acted differently in the case of the goal conceded.
"At the goal, I shouted loudly 'foul, foul, foul', it could have been a red card; however, it was gone, that thing happened now. Bregu should not have been alone with Mala at those moments, a fragment brought the difference in this match. Iago should have been placed a little further back, the rest were fine. The ball came out by chance, it was a moment when we should have been calmer", Edi Martini told the media after the match.
Meanwhile, in the championship, Vllaznia and AF Elbasani have secured participation in the "Final 4" zone, while Egnatia, Dinamo and Partizani remain in the race for the last two places in the fight for the title.
