Edon Zhegrova's father, Lulzimi, has revealed the behind-the-scenes that convinced the striker to represent Kosovo in the international arena.
According to him, the meeting with the late Fadil Vokrri, then president of the Kosovo Football Federation, did not last more than 30 seconds.
For the journalist Arlind Sadiku, he admitted that initially it was the Albanian Federation that had contacted him.
"With the transition to Genku, we were initially contacted by the Federation of Albania. It was an official who called us. After some time, Panuçi himself came to Brussels, he insisted a lot to take him. Fadili had the mimicry to do it for himself and tells Edon that we want to play for Kosovo because you came from there. And Edon's answer didn't even last 30 seconds: President, I'm coming to play for Kosovo because that's where I came from ," said Lulzim Zhegrova.
