Formula 1 held free practice on Friday for the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was dominated by McLaren. A strange incident that is being investigated occurred with Aston Martin driver, veteran Fernando Alonso.
During his tests, when the veteran Spaniard was about to take a right turn, the steering wheel of the "single-seater" came out of position and remained in Alonso's hand. This moment is being investigated by the team in question, since such an event could have led to an accident on the track. This situation reminded everyone of the fatal accident that killed Ayrton Senna in May 1994.
As for the free practice, it was McLaren that dominated with its two drivers. Oskar Piastri closed with a time of 1:30.505, while his teammate, Lando Norris, was next with 154 thousandths. Behind them, Russell, Leclerc and Antonelli.
Today (Saturday) at 14:00 the third free practice session will be held, while the qualifiers will start at 18:00. The race will start on Sunday at 17:00.
