
Hailton Correa de Aruda, known as Manga, has died at the age of 87. The legendary former Brazil goalkeeper closed his eyes forever in a Rio de Janeiro hospital.
Manga was part of the Brazilian team at the famous 1966 World Cup. He made his debut with the "Selecao" in 1965, and a year later he traveled with the first team to the World Cup in England.
The former goalkeeper won championship titles with Botafogo and Sport Club Internacional in Brazil. He then made history with Club Nacional in Uruguay, winning the title four times, as well as the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup.
Many football clubs expressed their condolences on the sad news, some of them former rivals.
