Albanian wrestler Shermen Valiev has qualified for the 74 kg freestyle final at the European Wrestling Championships taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia.
In the semi-final challenge held a little while ago, he won 6-0 against Azerbaijani Aganazar Novruzov, in a strong but dominated match by red-and-black wrestlers.
A very nice challenge from wrestler Valiev, who brings Albania its first medal in this continental tournament. Earlier, in the quarterfinals, he had won 10-0 against Ramazan Ramazanov.
In the 74 kg final, which will take place on Wednesday afternoon, the Albanian wrestler will face Russian Zaurbek Sidakov.
Meanwhile, wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov, in the semifinals of the 61kg freestyle weight class, fought against Armenian Arsen Harutyunyan, was defeated 5-2.
However, Abakarov will duel tomorrow for the bronze medal against a rival who will emerge from the rematches at this weight.
