Spanish coach Pep Guardiola has signed a contract extension with Manchester City. Guardiola had faced an uncertain future at the Etihad Stadium with his previous contract until the end of the 2024/25 season, but is now set to be on the bench for at least another two years.
Manchester City have confirmed that Pep Guardiola has signed a contract extension, keeping him in charge at the Etihad Stadium for at least another two years.
Guardiola, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 season, has signed a two-year extension.
"Manchester City means a lot to me. This is my ninth season here; we have experienced so many wonderful moments together. I have a really special feeling about this football club. That's why I'm very happy to stay for two more seasons. Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in me and support me – the owner, the chairman Khaldoon [Al Mubarak], Ferran [Soriano], Txiki [Begiristain], the players and of course the fans… everyone associated with Manchester City.
It has always been an honor, a pleasure and a privilege to be here. I've said this many times before, but I have everything a manager could want and I appreciate it so much. Hopefully we can now add more trophies to the ones we have already won. This will be my focus" , said Guardiola.
