An 18-year-old footballer lost his life on the field of play during a match between the Millionaires in the Colombian U20 championship.
Castrillon was immediately taken by ambulance to a large hospital in the city, where doctors made great efforts to keep him alive.
Unfortunately, they were unable to do so, leaving Colombia mourning the loss of a young footballer. The millionaires announced the sad news on Monday morning.
"Millionaires inform that on Saturday, March 21, footballer Santiago Castrillon collapsed during a match in the U20 National Championship.
He was immediately given first aid by the team's medical staff and transported by ambulance to a highly specialized hospital in the northern part of the city, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of specialized cardiology doctors.

Despite the efforts of doctors, Santiago failed to recover and passed away this Sunday, surrounded by family, teammates and friends.
Today football stops. The blue heart is broken. Pain overcomes us, filling us with helplessness and deep sadness.
With deep emotions we say goodbye to our "ten", our teammate, our friend.
Santiago didn't just play football. He lived it, felt it, shared it with a smile that will remain etched in the minds of all of us.
"We pray for his soul. We send a message of strength to his family and loved ones at this moment that is impossible to understand. Santiago, our beloved teammate, rest in peace," the club said in a statement.
