Inter Milan have won the Serie A title after a 2-0 victory over Parma on Sunday evening. The victory gave Cristian Chivu's team an unassailable 12-point lead over second-placed Napoli, the defending champions.
Inter suffered a tough defeat last season when they lost the title by one point to Antonio Conte's side and were beaten 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
This season has been less dramatic; Chivu, who replaced Simone Inzaghi on the bench, won the league title with three weeks of matches remaining, but his team was disappointed in Europe with a Champions League play-off elimination by Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.
The 45-year-old Romanian could lead Inter to a domestic league and cup double, with his team set to face Lazio in the Coppa Italia final on May 13.
This is Inter's 21st league title and third in the last six seasons, twice overtaking city rivals Milan as the second most successful team in the country, behind 36-time champions Juventus.
