The Italian Football Federation has decided that, starting from the next season, it will consider Albanian players as local and not foreign.
The Italian Football Federation held a meeting of the Executive Committee on March 28, 2024, which made several important decisions.
One of the items discussed on the agenda was the change in the rules related to the registration of extra-community football players for the 2024-2025 season in the neighboring country.
In relation to this issue, the Italian Football Federation has decided that, starting from the next season, it will consider Albanian players as local and not foreign.
In relation to this very important change for the Albanian community in Italy and not only, the AFL and in particular the President Armand Duka has always insisted on meetings with the President of the Italian Federation, Gabriele Gravina, to reach an agreement regarding this issue.
This decision will directly affect the activation of Albanian talents to compete equally in one of the most important championships in the world.
