Coach Xabi Alonso has confirmed in a press conference this Friday that he will remain the coach of Bayern Leverkusen next season.
The coach of Lverkusen rejected all the news and interests of clubs such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Liverpool.
He added that this was the right place for him, as he pointed out that he had informed the players this morning in the team talk.
" We have had a lot of speculation about my future. I wanted to use the international break to reflect and make a decision. Last week, I had a very good meeting and informed the club about my decision to continue coaching this team.
This is the right place for me to develop as a coach. I am a new coach and now I feel that this is the right place for me. The players have given me many reasons to continue to believe in the team. I feel my work here.
This is my first full season as a coach. I still have many things to try. I feel stable at the club and with the team. I have shared my thoughts with the players and the management. We must enjoy this season. It's going to be really intense, but hopefully with a happy ending.
I had to decide and make the right decision, then share it with everyone. I informed the players this morning in the team chat. I am grateful to Leverkusen for believing in me" , concluded Xabi Alonso.
