The Second Category, Group A match between Sopot i Librazhd and Beselidhje, held at the Librazhd city stadium, became one of the most commented matches of this season, not only for the game on the field, but also for the serious incidents that followed after its conclusion.
The atmosphere was intense from the first minutes, with around 3,000 fans on the stadium steps, who created an enthusiastic climate and continuous support for the respective teams. The match was characterized by high tempo and strong sports duels, which was also reflected in the large number of yellow cards awarded by the referee.
The challenge became complicated early on for the home team, as a Sopot player was sent off in the first half, forcing the team to play with one less player for most of the match. However, despite the numerical inferiority, the game maintained a high level and intensity.
Two spectacular goals, one for each team, ignited the stands even more and confirmed expectations for a strong and high-quality match, keeping the score and emotions open until the end.
But everything faded after the final whistle. As the Beselidhje players were heading to the locker rooms, a clash broke out between them and the Municipal Police officers. According to preliminary data, a police officer is suspected of being punched, while the full circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
The incident has also caused reactions from fans, while the intervention of law enforcement has avoided the escalation of the situation into more serious incidents. At least three people have been escorted to the Librazhd Police Station for a full explanation of the circumstances of the incident.
A match that began as a celebration of football and sporting passion, but ended with tension and violence, bringing to attention the need for stronger security measures and respect for the principles of fair play in Albanian football.
