Xhoi Nuredini will continue to be part of Genoa for the next four years. The Italian Serie A club has officially renewed the Albanian talent's contract until 2029, a move that demonstrates the great confidence of the management in the 18-year-old's potential.
For Nuredin, the last season was filled with strong emotions. At the age of 18, he fulfilled the dream of making his Serie A debut, but then faced a difficult moment, after he suffered a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in February. The injury forced him to undergo surgery in March.
Genoa's sports director, Diego Lopez, praised the Albanian footballer's talent and the support the club will offer him during his recovery period.
" Genoa continues to be a hotbed of talent and Joe's story is one of the clearest proofs of this. Now our responsibility is to help in the growth of promising players like him and accompany him in the best way towards full maturity, even in difficult moments like the one he is going through. We are convinced that he will emerge from this period even stronger than before ," declared Lopez.
After signing the new contract, Nuredini himself expressed his gratitude for the club's support and optimism for his return to the playing field.
" It has definitely been a special year for me, with my debut in Serie A and then with the ligament damage. This contract extension gives me motivation and responsibility, as well as conveying the great trust of the club, which has never failed me with its support. I can't wait to get back on the field ," said the Albanian footballer.
It is worth noting that Nuredini's debut in the Italian football elite came thanks to the trust of coach Daniele De Rosi. However, the midfielder of the Albanian U-19 National Team will have to wait a few more months to complete the recovery process and return to the team's availability.
