Tirana was shocked on January 24 of this year when the daughter of midfielder Fredi Alvarez lost her life. The tragic event marked a painful moment for the footballer and his family, as he fled to Costa Rica to be near his relatives.
About a month after this date, Alvarez has returned to the Albanian capital. According to sources from "Panorama Sport", the 30-year-old has decided to honor his contract with the white and blue club and continue his commitment with Tirana.
A day earlier, the midfielder published a photo on social media, accompanied by a touching message, hinting that he was leaving Costa Rica, where he had been staying since the end of January.
" Grief has no hours, some days it hurts like it was yesterday, and at every moment a memory comes back, and that lump in your throat hurts a lot ," Alvarez wrote in his post, referring to his late daughter, Irina.
Alvarez joined Tirana in early January and expectations for his contribution in midfield are high. His return comes at an important moment for the team, which aims to meet its seasonal objectives.
