Robert Lewandowski has officially confirmed his departure from Barcelona. The Polish striker announced his decision through a video posted on his personal Instagram profile, while the Catalan club later reacted through a statement on its official website.
Sunday's match against Betis will be Levante's last at the "Spotify Camp Nou" in a Barcelona shirt, ending a four-year adventure in Catalonia.
" After 4 years of goals and hard work, it's time to look ahead," Lewandowski wrote in his post on social media. "I leave with the feeling that I fulfilled my mission. Four seasons, three championships. I will never forget the love I received from the fans from day one. Catalonia is my home on earth ."
The Polish striker also thanked all the people who accompanied him during his time at Barcelona, reserving a special message for president Joan Laporta.
" Thank you to everyone I have known during these four wonderful years. A special thank you to President Laporta who gave me the opportunity to experience the most incredible chapter of my career. Barcelona returned to the place where it belongs. Long live Barcelona, long live Catalonia ," he said.
During four seasons with the Blaugrana club, Lewandowski played 191 matches and scored 119 goals, ranking as the 14th best scorer in Barcelona's history.
The striker, who turns 38 in August, joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 after leaving Bayern Munich, in a transfer that cost the Catalan club around 50 million euros.
With Barcelona, Leva won a total of seven trophies: three La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
As for his future, Spanish media report that the striker has received important offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, while Chicago Fire in MLS and Porto have also shown interest. According to "Mundo Deportivo", a decision on his next destination is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
