Dinamo has taken an important step in the race for the championship title, after defeating Vllaznia with a clean score of 2-0 in the first match of the “Final Four” phase. Goals from Malomo in the 77th minute and James in the sixth minute of extra time gave success to the team led by Ilir Daja, who watched the match from the stands.
With this victory, Dinamo remains fully in the title race, while Vllaznia suffers a heavy loss at a crucial moment of the season. Shkodranën remains with 31 points, the same as Elbasan, which will face Egnatia tomorrow at 19:00, another championship contender.
The first half was more about Vllaznia, who appeared more demanding and aggressive in the game. Influenced by the importance of the points, the team from Shkodër tried to attack mainly from the right wing, with numerous crosses towards the area, but the Dinamo defense reacted correctly, neutralizing every danger.
In the second half, the flow of the game changed. Dinamo appeared more organized and more persistent in attack, while Vllaznia encountered difficulties in building up the possession. The capital's blues exerted constant pressure on the opposing zone and created more spaces in the last 30 meters.
The key moment of the match came in the 69th minute, when Bajrami was punished with a second yellow card, leaving Vllaznia with 10 players and significantly making the situation more difficult for the team led by Edi Martini.
Two minutes later, Dinamo registered their best chance up to that point. Qardaku tried from the free kick, while goalkeeper Pohls did not control the ball properly, creating panic in the area, but the Shkodra defenders managed to clear the danger at the last moment.
Dinamo's pressure paid off in the 77th minute. After a move initiated by Berisha, Malomo took advantage of an ideal position in the area and sent the ball into the net, unblocking the result.
In the final minutes, Vllaznia went all out on the attack in search of the equalizer and created two good opportunities with Dodajn, but the striker failed to convert.
On the other side, Dinamo found space on the counterattack and in the extra minutes, James took advantage of Pohls' empty goal to score the second goal, sealing the 2-0 victory and the important success of the capital team.
