Teuta has secured its place in the Abissnet Superiore after a narrow victory over Pogradec in the "play out" final, held at the "Niko Dovana" stadium. The Durrës-based team avoided relegation in a tense and emotional match.
After the match, the head coach, Hodo, spoke about the difficult situation the team went through during the season, apologizing to the fans and the sports environment in Durrës.
" We had some bad moments, but we managed to do it successfully. As a player, you experience it differently and I had the same feeling about this jersey. We must apologize to the fans and the entire sports environment in Durrës for bringing the team to this situation. That's football ," he said to "RTSH".
Hodo emphasized that he had anticipated a difficult match and that the emotions of this challenge were special, despite previous successes with the club.
" Personally, I was expecting such a match and I was prepared. But the emotions are very strong. We became champions, we won the Super Cup and the Albanian Cup, but this was completely different ," he declared.
Meanwhile, Hodo also confirmed the approach of Edlir Tetova to head Teuta's bench for the next season, although the club had not previously publicly made it official.
" It's better not to break the news, but as far as I know, coach Tetova will be the next coach of our team. I will also be part of his staff. We wish him success and hope we don't experience such days again ," concluded Hodo.
