FIFA has officially opened the way for a new activity called "FIFA Series", where Albania received an invitation, but decided not to participate in the first experimental edition that takes place in March.
The tournament, devised by FIFA, is about a mini-tournament between four teams that takes place in a few days with a gathering system in a certain place. The four teams are from different confederations, to make the event more special and it is thought that starting in 2026, it will include all the teams in the world in the March international window.
FIFA has made official the 5 groups which in March of this year will implement this pilot project and it is noticeable that Albania could be a part of this new tournament. One of the mini-tournaments is the one in Algeria where it was thought that the Red and Blacks would participate alongside the locals, Bolivia and South Africa.
Now Albania's place in that tournament has been taken by another European team, Andorra, after the AFL decided not to be part of the activity due to logistical issues as well as the fact that with such opponents, the team led by Silvinjo could hardly learn anything. in relation to the preparations for "EURO 2024".
