The Albanian national team takes to the field today for the second friendly match of June, where they will face Luxembourg. The challenge comes just a few days after the minimal 1-0 defeat to Israel at the “Air Albania” stadium, a result that left the red and blacks with a taste of disappointment.
The match against Luxembourg represents a good opportunity for Albania to react and end the group with a positive result. At the same time, the team aims to give coach Maran his first victory in his debut week in charge of the national team.
The Italian coach has decided to make three changes to the lineup compared to the previous match. Ajeti, Mehmeti and Broja have been left out of the lineup, while Pllana, Bajrami and Uzuni have taken their place.
As for Mehmet's absence, he is unavailable due to a virus. Meanwhile, Uzun has fully recovered from a similar health condition, which had kept him out of the match against Israel.
Although it is a friendly match, the match against Luxembourg is considered important for the technical staff. Maran will have the opportunity to more closely evaluate the available players and create a clearer idea of the starting lineup that will be used in official matches.
Albania will return to competitive engagements in September, when it will start its campaign in the Nations League, the next objective for the Rossoneri.
