Lorik Cana has returned to the peak episodes of his career. He did this in the documentary "Lorik", produced by Digitalb Albania, broadcast on "Supersport News".
His father, Agimi, as well as his Italian wife, Monika, have joined the confessions of our former captain, the record holder for matches with the Albanian national team.
The former, a former football player from Pristina, recalled that his son was asked to play with France, initially at U-21, but when he received the invitation from Albania, he did not think twice about the choice:
" Rajmond Domenek asked me personally that Lorik be part of France's U-21 team. I told him to give me time to think. It left me 3 days. I told Lorik and it only took him 10 minutes to decide. It was his desire and ours to wear red and black ."
One of the difficult moments of Lorik's career was the qualifying match in Belgrade, interrupted at the end of the first half by a drone that flew over the stadium. What happened next is known, it was a nightmare for the red and black footballers in the Serbian capital. The former Red and Black captain remembers:
" When the drone started to descend over the stadium and then approached the green field, we saw that it was our symbols. The Serbs lost control, the whole stadium was engulfed in a kind of explosion, hatred. The inscription on the flag hanging from the drone simply stated the reality. They were our symbols and if anyone should remove that flag, it was us, not the Serbs ."
For her part, Lorik Cana's wife, Monika, mother of two children of the former captain of the red and black national team, has revealed interesting details from the beginning of their relationship.
It happened when Lorik was playing with Lazio, in a restaurant in Rome. She reveals a detail that was not known until now, that they broke up after three months of dating .
The reason? Unbelievable, because Cana wanted an Albanian woman :
" I go to a restaurant with some of my friends. There was a big table and I sit in front of it. Lorik was also there, we often exchanged glances and smiles. Finally the waitress comes to bring the bill. Along with it, he brought me a letter with the phone number and the name n.
When I went home, I wrote: The time for letters is over. You should have gotten up from the table and talked to me. He didn't tell me he was a footballer, he told me he was going away for a week on business and would write to me when he got back. He was gathering with the national team.
We went out together after he returned from the national team and after three months he left me. He left me because he loved the Albanian woman. Naturally, I felt bad, because he left me simply because I was Italian, maybe he just thought to pass the time .
I said: OK, good luck! Some time later, while I was at a service station, I heard a car noise. It was his car. I asked him if he had found the Albanian woman and he said no. I asked him to go out for dinner and that's how we connected again, never to be separated again .
