'Milano Cortina'/ Mailet wins in Biathlon, Klabo Klæbo secures

The "Milano Cortina 2026" Winter Olympic Games continued today with the seventh day of competitions, where France and Norway added to their gold medal tally thanks to strong performances in biathlon and Nordic skiing.

Filon Mailet gives France its fourth gold medal

In the biathlon sprint event, Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet triumphed, giving France its fourth gold medal of the Games. He finished the race in 22:53.1, beating his Norwegian rivals in a fiercely contested race.

Norwegian Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen came in second with a time of 23:06.8, while Sturla Holm Lagreid was third with 23:09.0, completing the podium after a hard-fought race until the last meters.

For Filon Mailet, this was the seventh Olympic medal of his career (four gold and three silver), confirming his status as one of the most successful biathlon athletes at the Winter Olympics.

Klabo dominates in 10 km freestyle

Meanwhile, in the Nordic skiing 10km freestyle event, Norway's Johannes Hosflot Klabo secured his third individual gold medal of the Games. He finished the race in 20:36.2, dominating the competition.

With this victory, Norway reached eight gold medals in total at Milano Cortina 2026. Klabo's success keeps alive the goal of setting a new record for the number of first places in a single edition of the Winter Olympic Games, although such a record remains to be confirmed in the following competitions.

The Games continue with other competitions in the coming days, while the race to top the medal table remains open.
