Barcelona managed to win the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Metropolitano, but the result was not enough to secure qualification. It was the Madrid team, known as “Los Colchoneros”, that secured their ticket to the semi-finals thanks to the aggregate result.
After the match ended, cameras caught a controversial moment from Barcelona forward Rafinha. The Brazilian was seen making a gesture towards the home fans, an action that attracted attention and reactions.
" It was a stolen match, the refereeing was terrible," he told DAZN Brazil immediately after the match. "I think the refereeing had a lot of problems, it's unbelievable some of the decisions they made. Atletico players committed I don't know how many fouls and the referee didn't even show them a yellow card. What I really want to understand is the fear they have that Barcelona will come back to win ," he said.

Rafinha later reacted publicly on social media, apologizing for his behavior. In a comment on a post by DAZN in the Spanish version, he explained that the reaction came as a result of a tense situation.
" I apologize for my gesture, which does not align with my values or my character. It was an action taken in a moment of tension, in response to a fan who was showing disrespect ," Rafinha wrote.
