A soccer player from Ecuador died after a car accident a week ago. It's about Marco Angulo.
The 22-year-old was in an artificial coma and despite the efforts of the doctors, he did not manage to survive.
Considered one of the country's brightest talents, Angulo stood out at Independiente del Vale, contributing to his team's victory in the U-20 Libertadores Cup.
A true promise of Ecuadorian football...
He later joined the first team before joining FC Cincinnati in the MLS. After this experience in the United States of America, he returned to Ecuador to play with LDU Quito, where he split his time between the bench and the field.
At international level, Angulo made his debut with the national team under Gustavo Alfaro, then was called up again by Felix Sánchez in 2022. Although his place in the national team was not regular, many believed in his potential.
In an official statement, the club where he played, LDU Kuito, expressed their condolences: " We express our deepest condolences to Marko's family and friends. His death is a deep loss that will forever resonate within our club and community ."
