Anis Mehmeti's contract at Bristol City is expiring. So it wouldn't be surprising if his card is sold this month if a renewal doesn't come.
Coach Gerhard Struber spoke about the situation in question. The latter was asked specifically about Zak Byner, but he also included Mehmet later in his speech.
Mehmeti turned 25 today and offers for him cannot be lacking. According to him, it is up to the Bristol City club to convince the national team striker.
" I will say first of all that I am really, really happy with both of these players. Zaki and Anisi have made a huge difference in the last few months in terms of performances, and they have been extremely important for us.
Especially Zaki. He is the face of the club; he grew up here and has had a very important period at this club. Of course, my great desire is to reach an agreement on the contract, and I would say that Zaki currently has a really good offer on the table. I can say the same for Anis.
They know what they have here with us, with this club. They also know how they fit into our football identity, and I think in many ways I would be happy, but they would be happy too, if we continued on this path and this project for a little longer. At the same time, football is also a bit of a business, and of course, when you have performances like the ones they have had in recent months, it is quite obvious that other clubs will be knocking on the door for Anis or for Zak Vyner.
I hope we follow this path with them until the last second here in the summer, but not everything is in my hands or in the hands of the club. However, I hope for this and I hope we have a successful period in the coming months.
Of course, I'll bring everything to the table, ultimately, to encourage the guys to stay here. But, at the same time, for the project here, we definitely need a broader framework for them to say: 'Yes, I can imagine myself staying here.'
"I think the style of play suits these guys very well, but also the contract has to be at a level that is normal for the market. In this way, of course, we have to deal with contracts with different figures and hopefully we can keep them here ," said the Bristol City coach.
