FIFA has decided to block the Tirana club from registering new players, a measure that has been in effect since March 3. In most cases, such decisions are related to unpaid financial obligations to former players, who choose to pursue the matter legally.
This development comes at a delicate moment for the white and blue team. Tirana is currently ranked second to last in the championship and is fighting to ensure survival in the Albanian football elite. However, the winter transfer market has now closed and the club has managed to bring in the players it had planned during this period.
The team led by coach Orges Shehi is now fully focused on the championship. In the next week of the Superiore, Tirana will host Elbasan at the “Selman Stërmasi” stadium, in an important match for the survival objective.
Vllaznia is also on the list of clubs blocked by FIFA. This is not an unknown situation for the Shkodran club, as it has faced similar measures in the past. The problems are usually related to financial issues and unpaid obligations to former players.
A similar case was recorded during the winter transfer window. During that period, the club's management managed to temporarily unblock the situation, making it possible to approach striker Kevin Dodaj on loan.
Despite the developments off the field, Vllaznia is going through a positive moment in terms of sports. The team led by Edi Martini is currently leading the championship standings, with five points more than the closest rivals, Elbasani and Egnatia.
In the next week of the championship, Vllaznia will play away against Flamurtari. The match is scheduled to take place in Vlora on Sunday, March 8, starting at 18:00.
