Albanian striker Xhoi Nuredini has undergone knee surgery following the serious injury he suffered in mid-February. The 18-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), an injury that is expected to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.
The injury occurred on February 14 during a match between Genoa U-20 and Milan U-20. Nuredini was forced off the pitch after just 10 minutes of play, immediately raising concerns about a serious knee injury.
The day before, the footballer himself published a photo from the hospital on social media, confirming that the surgical intervention on his right knee had been successfully completed. He thanked the medical team for the treatment, as well as the Genoa club for the support and trust given.
" The intervention went well, I can't wait to get back on the field ," the Albania U-19 striker wrote in his message.
The injury comes at a positive moment in Nuredini's career. In January, he made his debut for Genoa's first team in Serie A, against Parma. After that moment, coach Daniele De Rossi often included him on the bench as an alternative to the attack.
The interruption of the season due to injury temporarily halted the development of the Albanian talent, who was going through an important period in the Italian team.
