The Kosovo national team ended the first half with a golden 0-1 advantage against Sweden in the Group B match of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, played at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg.
The only goal of this half came in the 32nd minute, when Fisnik Asllani managed to send the ball into the net after a deflection of Vedat Muriqi's shot, beating Swedish goalkeeper Oliver Johansson.
This goal, which came from a quick collective action, completely changed the dynamics of the game, giving Kosovo a huge moral advantage.
Kosovo played an admirable game, creating several dangerous chances and exerting constant pressure on the Swedish defense.
The climax of the emotions came in the 44th minute, when Leon Avdullahu hit the left post of the Swedish goal from about 3-4 meters, after a shot by Muriqi was stopped by Johansson.
Sweden, with stars like Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres, had more possession of the ball and created several chances, but failed to get past Muric.
