On March 26, the Polish national team will face Albania in the semifinals of the qualifying round to secure a place in next year's World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. If they win, they will face the winner of the Ukraine-Sweden match in the final for a place in the World Cup.
Former Polish national team captain Jacek Bak believes they will win against Albania and would prefer Sweden in the final.
“ Shouldn’t we win against Albania at home? No exaggeration. Then we have Sweden or Ukraine… and I think I would prefer Sweden. And Ukraine only if the match was played in Poland. If they wanted to, I’m sure the Polish Football Association would agree. However, it’s worth noting that if we have to go to Sweden, it certainly won’t be easy. The Swedes will want to make up for their loss in the play-off final before the previous championship ,” says Bak.
" Albania? Why should we be afraid? We played on equal terms with the Netherlands, but are we afraid against Albania or Sweden? I understand that this will not be an easy match. If anyone expects one, it should be corrected immediately. They will push, fight and set difficult conditions, but I cannot imagine that we will not win. Albania… let's not lie to ourselves. As Urban says, we are the favorites and are supposed to win this match ," Bak emphasizes.
