Real Madrid has signed a contract with the 18-year-old football talent, Arda Güler from the Turkish team Fenerbahçe. Güler is one of the most sought-after prospects in the sport and his signature has been rumored as a race between a number of big-name teams.
But Real eventually won the race to add talent and potential to their squad, with Güler signing a six-year contract with the club. Güler expressed his enthusiasm for signing with the historic club.
" First of all, I would like to thank my family, the people who have helped me reach this point and this club. I also want to be a Real Madrid legend. Thank you for everything ," he said.
The ability to dribble into tight spaces, as well as his preferred position on the right side of the pitch to allow him to cut in on his stronger left foot, have led to Güler being compared to Argentine great Lionel Messi , with fans christening him the "Turkish Messi".
