The third week of Serie A 2025-26 ended with a positive result for Milan, who celebrated a minimal victory at San Siro, while Roma and Lazio suffered unexpected losses.
At the San Siro, AC Milan secured a 1-0 victory over Bologna, thanks to a spectacular goal from Luka Modric, who celebrated his 40th birthday just a few days ago. The Croatian midfielder, transferred this summer, scored his first goal for the red and black shirt in the 61st minute, after a precise shot from outside the area, giving Milan a valuable three points.
The Rossoneri, led by coach Massimiliano Allegri, had further chances to score, with Santiago Gimenez hitting the post and a Bologna goal disallowed for offside. The win lifted Milan to eighth place with six points, showing signs of improvement after a shaky start to the season.
In the Italian capital, Roma suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 0-1 at the Stadio Olimpico against Torino. The only goal was scored by Giovanni Simeone, who with a magical shot secured the first victory of the season for Torino, after only one point collected in the first two matches. Gian Piero Gasperini's team proved powerless to react, risking a second goal.
Meanwhile, Lazio were stunned by bottom-placed Sassuolo, losing 1-0 away. The defeat leaves Lazio with just three points from their opening three games, a disappointing start for Maurizio Sarri's side, who are struggling to find their rhythm.
Atalanta of Gjimshi destroyed Lecce with a score of 4-1 at the Gewiss Stadium, recording its first victory of the season under the leadership of coach Ivan Juric. This goal strengthens the positions of the Bergamo team, who showed attacking strength and high organization.
Udinese, on the other hand, continued their good form, defeating Pisa away with a score of 0-1. This victory, the second consecutive away win after the triumph over Inter at San Siro, confirms Udinese's status as one of the surprises of this early season.
