The Albanian national football team secured the play-off phase of a World Cup for the first time. Sylvinho's red and black team won 0-1 in Andorra and will close Group K in second place, with England as the leader who has already secured the top spot and a ticket to the 2026 World Cup finals.
On Sunday in Tirana, the calendar clashes between Albania and England at 6:00 PM. With both teams having secured their objectives, this luxury challenge is more like a friendly for the fans, but not for the players and staff.
UEFA has decided that referees from Italy will officiate in Tirana. Head referee Marco Guida will be supported by assistant referees Giorgio Peretti, Alessio Berti and Simone Sozza. The VAR will be Marco Di Bello and Valerio Marini.
