Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted to rumours of Erling Haaland's transfer to Barcelona.
Given that Haaland is seen as a "dream signing" by Barcelona, Guardiola said: "Can you tell me a club that wouldn't have Erling Haaland as a dream? It's understandable that Barcelona wants Erling and all the teams around the world. If Erling wasn't with us, it would be a dream for Man City to have Erling. What will happen? Honestly, I don't know."
Guardiola also highlighted Haaland's current situation at City.
"I know he has a long contract here and I think he is playing very well, scoring a lot of goals. I have the feeling that the team helps him a lot and creates a lot of actions for him to score. We play better and better to create more chances to score more goals. I always want the team to concede less and create more," said Guardiola.
On the unpredictable nature of football despite strong performances, he added "it's just a game. In football, you can create more and concede less and lose the game or not win. It's the only sport in the world. Golf, basketball, handball, tennis, if the statistics are better, you win. In football, no. That's why if you create 19 shots and they're not enough, you have to create 25; if they're not enough, they have to be 35. And that's what we have to do."
Regarding Haaland's contract and commitment, he added: "I think Erling is not so stupid as to sign something he would not want to achieve. That is for sure. But, in football, who knows what will happen next time. Nobody knows."
