Armando Broja has seen one of his big dreams disappear. The attacker wanted to demolish the current residence to build a new luxury home, but the area's planning officers have refused the request.
Broja, born in Slough, currently owns a property in Surrey. The 22-year-old was trying to demolish his existing home to make way for a major rebuild. The new-look dream property was planned to include a swimming pool and gym, buildings which received approval from Elmbridge Borough Council.
However, as part of a £4 million redevelopment, he had intended to triple the size of the flat. Despite there being no complaints from neighbours, the council went against it.
" As a result of the significant increase in length and height, it is considered that the bulk, scale and mass of the proposal would greatly exceed that of the existing house it would replace and the neighboring properties ," planning officer Joseph Kelly said of " The Sun".
“ The proposed replacement housing would fill most of the length of the plot which is inconsistent with the urban fabric and pattern of buildings in the streetscape which are low density in the local area. Although the application site is a large plot, the proposed replacement house would be disproportionate, uncharacteristic and inconsistent in its size and appearance compared to the existing house. "
The new plans would have seen Broja's flat increase significantly in height and length as he sought to put plans for a five-bedroom dream home in place. However, Kelli noted that: "The proposed development will not adversely affect the residential amenity of neighboring properties due to the view."
Broja is believed to have bought the property, which is located near Chelsea's Cobham training ground, in December 2023 for £1.8 million. Now it is not yet known if Broja will propose a new model for approval, or if he will look for another property to build his dream house.
