The championship title for the third consecutive season has not only ensured Egnatia's dominance in Albanian football, but also another opportunity to face the elite of European football. The Rrogozhin team will participate in the new edition of the Champions League, with the aim of securing a place in the group stages of one of the continental club competitions.
This season's participation is expected to have a special significance for the Albanian champions. For at least two days, Egnatia's players will share the international football stage with World Cup matches, as the UEFA calendar coincides with the most important stages of the world tournament.
Egnatia's fate will be known on June 16, when the draw for the first round of the Champions League will be made in Nyon, Switzerland. Just one day later, on June 17, the team from Rrogozhina will also learn their possible opponent in the second round, or the alternative in the Conference League in case they are eliminated from the most prestigious club competition in Europe.
According to the UEFA calendar, the first round matches will be played on July 7-8 and July 14-15. These dates coincide with the round of 16 and semi-finals of the World Cup, thus giving Egnatia the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a period when the attention of world football will be focused on the most important matches of the year.
