AC Milan fans' protests against the club's current management are expected to cross the borders of Italy and move to the United States. Several representatives of organized fan groups are working on a symbolic initiative in New York, with the aim of expressing their dissatisfaction with owner Jerry Cardinale and the way the club is managed.
Ahead of the World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada, an event that will attract the attention of the entire world, Milan fans intend to use this international exposure to convey their message. The plan involves renting advertising space on giant screens in Times Square, one of the most famous landmarks in New York.
The two main messages intended to be displayed are: "Save AC Milan" and "Cardinale Out", slogans that reflect the opposition of a section of the fan base to the club's current ownership.
According to reports, the idea was put forward by Guido, president of Milan Club Valle Telesina, who has initiated contacts with various representatives of organized fans to coordinate the protest in American territory, the country where Jerry Cardinal carries out his main activity.
The initiative is not expected to be limited to Times Square. Organizers are also considering securing advertising space in prominent American media outlets, including CBS and the prestigious New York Times, in order to increase the resonance of the protest and draw attention to the situation at the seven-time Champions League-winning club.
It remains to be seen whether this initiative will materialize and what impact it will have on relations between Milan fans and management.
