A new prediction based on supercomputer simulations has reignited the debate over the Premier League title race, projecting an incredibly close finish between Manchester City and Arsenal.
According to the calculation model, both teams are expected to end the season with the same number of points and the same total goals scored. Currently, City and Arsenal share first place with 70 points each, while there are still five games left until the end of the season.
Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola, took the lead after a narrow 1-0 away win over Burnley, leaving Arsenal behind at a key moment in the season.
The simulation predicts that both teams will secure eight more points in the remaining five games, ending the season with 78 points each. This balance would include for each team: two wins, two draws and one loss.
An interesting element of the prediction is that both teams will score exactly 78 goals in total, reflecting an almost perfect balance in offensive terms.
However, the difference is expected to come in the defensive department. According to the model, Manchester City will concede three fewer goals than Arsenal, which will give them the decisive advantage in goal difference and, consequently, the championship title.
If this scenario comes to fruition, the Premier League season will end in the most dramatic way possible, with the title decided by minimal details, despite a tie in points and goals scored.
