Bundesliga Super Challenge ends peacefully, Bayern "faces" Leverkusen

The Bundesliga match of the 26th week between Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich ended in a 1-1 draw, in a match filled with emotions and cards.

Leverkusen took the lead very quickly, in the 5th minute. After a lost ball by Luis Diaz in midfield, the home team launched a quick counterattack that started with Kulbrith. The latter passed to Patrik Schick, who served Aleks Garcia. The Spanish midfielder made no mistake in front of goalkeeper Sven Ulrish, sending the ball into the net for the score 1-0.

Things got complicated for Bayern at the end of the first half. In the 43rd minute, Nicholas Jackson was sent off for a harsh challenge on Martin Terrier, leaving the Bavarians one man short. The first half ended with Leverkusen holding a slim advantage.

At the start of the second half, Bayern equalised in the 61st minute through Harry Kane, following an assist from Luis Diaz and a mistake by the home goalkeeper. However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed for handball by the English striker.

The equalizer came in the 69th minute. Michael Oliseh assisted Luis Diaz, who this time scored by sending the ball into the net and restoring balance to the score.

In the 85th minute, Bayern were reduced to nine men after Luis Diaz was sent off for a second yellow card in as many minutes. However, the score remained unchanged until the end, with the match ending 1-1.

In other matches of the week, Borussia Dortmund won 2-0 at home against Augsburg. The Yellow and Blacks took the lead in the 12th minute through Karim Adeyjemi, after an assist from Maksimilian Beyer.

In the 59th minute, Dortmund doubled their lead. After a cross from a corner by Julian Ryerson, young Italian defender Luka Rexhiani headed home for the final score of 2-0.

With this victory, Dortmund keeps the race for the lead alive, while the difference with Bayern remains at 9 points.
