" Yes, I am proud of my players. I am happy for the country, the Federation and all the fans. I lived for 1.5 years in Tirana, I discovered new players. People might assume that Italy would score us 3 goals, Croatia 4 and Spain 5.
But we did tactical work, we had a lot of confidence. We sacrificed, we managed to compete against three big national teams.
Spain is a great national team, they have very good and fast players. A team ready to win, one of the favorites to win the European Championship.
The draw and group were difficult. We are not used to playing in such competitions. I hope to be in charge of this National Team for the next 10 years.
I spent many sleepless nights dreaming about how we should play against such teams. We managed to be dignified opponents, we have no regrets. Congratulations to the players, Albania is proud of us.
Albania's goal is to play in such events, to reach higher levels by learning and improving. We have clear goals, we have the right players. We have a big job ahead of us, but we have the right material.
What if we were in another group? I wouldn't change the experience of facing and the pressure of playing against Italy, Croatia and Spain. My players gave everything they had, they will always remember this valuable experience.
I am very happy, also for the fact that no one completely dominated us. I have received very good responses, this is golden stuff. I wouldn't have changed a thing.
Broja and Hoxha? No, we didn't make any wrong substitutions. We did what we had to, but it was very difficult. Spain has great players. We were prepared for counterattacks, organization and proper transitions. That's how we qualified for the European.
I want to thank all the fans, who have supported us regardless of the results, in every match. We are supported by everyone, even by 15, 16 or 17-year-old youths who have never seen Albania play in the European Championship. It was a golden experience.
The feeling of facing the fans? Extreme supporters, I also see them in Tirana where I live and work. I see people's appreciation for the work we have done. We are all happy for what we have achieved ".
