"Now I live in the forest", the former goalkeeper who won the World

Do you remember Angelo Peruzzi? The former goalkeeper, now 54, has a glorious past as he was part of Italy in 2006 when the Blues won the World Cup. Part of Roma, Verona, Juventus, Inter and Lazio, Peruzzi has played 621 matches in his career, including 478 duels in Serie A.

He now tells 'Il Messaggero' that he lives in the forest and leads a simple life where he feels comfortable and does not follow modern football, as it is not for him.

" Now I live in the forest, modern football is not for me. I am retired, I like nature and simple things. One of the most beautiful things I do is wake up in the morning and walk through the forest ," Peruci initially said.

Peruci also revealed that he became a goalkeeper because he was the only one in his class who could touch the crossbar.

" It was a teacher from primary school. There were two teams and no one wanted to go to the goal. At that age, everyone wants to be a striker, so she came up with an experiment; whoever can touch the crossbar will be the goalkeeper. And I, being the tallest, managed to touch it, the truth is that I liked it a lot ," concluded the former Italian goalkeeper.
