England beat Albania in Thomas Tuchel's first match as Three Lions manager. The manager handed Myles Lewis-Skelly an international debut and his faith was rewarded within 20 minutes as the 18-year-old Arsenal left-back scored the opening goal to give England the lead against Albania.
Another magnificent strike that sealed the score for England was that of captain Harry Kane who made it 2-0, scoring his 70th goal in international competition.
The focus for Thomas Tuchel is now on the match against Latvia to be played on Monday evening.
"We will take the opportunity to check who is available. We had some good players who were not activated in the match against Albania. I have not yet seen the file for Latvia. I have full confidence in all 22 players. We need a full recovery day and everyone deserves that," said Tuchel.
Facing Latvia is relatively easy for England.
Thomas Tuchel was asked about Anthony Gordon, who showed problems in the final seconds of the match.
"He looks injured. At first I thought he had a stomachache, but it was in his groin and it doesn't look good. It's a bit worrying," Tuchel said.
Numbers 1291 and 1292 for England
A special night for Dan Burn and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who have a difference in age of 14 years and in height of about 20 centimeters.
For the 32-year-old Burn, there may not be much time, while Lewis-Skelly could have a brilliant career with the English national team.
Newcastle's latest hero at Wembley is the 1,291st player to represent England's senior team, while tonight's opening goalscorer is the 1,292nd.
