The Albanian national team is expected to take to the field wearing the third jersey in the match against Poland. According to recent reports, UEFA has rejected the request for Albania to appear in the first red and black uniform, causing the red and black team to activate in the black uniform.
This means that Albania will not be playing in their traditional colors in this challenge, however, the third jersey has often been associated with historic results for the Albanian national team. In some of the most important matches abroad, the National Team has achieved success precisely wearing the black uniform.
One of the most important moments was in 2015, when Albania won away against Armenia and secured their first ever qualification for the European Championship. Likewise, at Euro 2016, the Rossoneri's only victory in that tournament – against Romania – also came in the third shirt.
Even in recent years, the black uniform has been part of some important results. An away draw against Moldova in November 2023 sealed Albania's second historic qualification to the European Championship. While in Euro 2024, a 2–2 draw against Croatia brought the Rossoneri their only point in Group B.
Albania's historic matches with the black jersey:
Armenia 0–3 Albania (October 11, 2015) – secures historic first European qualification.
Albania 1–0 Romania (Euro 2016) – Albania's first and only victory in a European Championship.
Moldova 1–1 Albania (17 November 2023) – second European qualifier.
Croatia 2–2 Albania (Euro 2024) – historic result in the group stage.
