Max Verstappen with Red Bull won the Imola Grand Prix in Italy in Formula 1. The Dutchman of Red Bull secured his second victory this season, while at the circuit of "Enzo and Dino Ferrari" this was the seventh race of the season.
Verstappen started the race from the first position, passing and leaving behind the McLaren cars. Lando Norris was positioned in second place and Oscar Piastri in third place. Meanwhile, Ferrari returned after disastrous testing, taking fourth place with Hamilton and sixth with Charles Leclerc.
Race - At Imola, four-time world champion Verstappen beat the McLarens with the help of a pit stop under Virtual Safety Car conditions, marking his second win of the season after that a month and a half ago in Japan and his fourth in a row at the track named after Enzo and Dino Ferrari.
Overtaken at the start by a strange braking move by Verstappen, Oskar Piastri finished third behind his teammate Lando Norris, who used a new pair of tires fitted by the Englishman (and Verstappen, but not by Piastri himself) during the Safety Car caused by the need to remove Andrea Kimi Antonelli's Mercedes (problems with the accelerator), the end of a not-so-great race for the Italian driver.
After the disappointing qualifying, Ferrari is close to the podium with Lewis Hamilton, who towards the end of the race overtook the Williams of Alexander Albon and the SF-25 of his teammate, Charles Leclerc, who a few laps from the end pushed the Williams of Albon off the track, then left him on the road to avoid a penalty that would probably have dropped him to the bottom of the top ten. Seventh position in the final for George Russell, who "completed" the negative day for Mercedes.
