The month of June brings two important matches for the Albanian national football team, which will play two friendlies at the "Air Albania" stadium in Tirana.
The Reds will first face Israel on June 3, at 20:00. This will be the seventh match between the two teams in history and the first friendly, as the six previous meetings have been held in the framework of World Cup and European Championship qualifiers. In the balance of these challenges, Albania has recorded two wins and four losses.
Three days later, on June 6 at the same time, the Albanian national team will also play against Luxembourg, again at "Air Albania".
These matches take place shortly before the start of the 2026 World Cup (June 11 - July 19), a tournament where Albania failed to qualify, after being eliminated in the play-off stage by Poland in Warsaw.
Meanwhile, the future of coach Sylvinho is expected to be clarified by June. The Brazilian coach is at the end of his contract with the Albanian Football Federation, which ends in July, while president Armand Duka has left the final decision in his hands, emphasizing that he "left the ball in the Brazilian's court."
