After 11 days of blockage as a result of a massive landslide on the 3rd lot of this axis and after days of work until late hours, the company has managed to remove from the road surface the large quantities of stones and soil that fell after the rains of January 7, 2026.
Workers are now carrying out the final cleaning and washing of the road from mud to make it fully accessible to vehicles from Monday.
Of course, work in the areas affected by the landslides will continue to secure the slopes and rehabilitate the asphalt surfaces damaged by the strong impacts of the rocks, which have also caused potholes.
Movement for vehicles in the Mokra area has started today, but with restrictions and only 1 lane in the landslide area, while from Monday movement will be full in both lanes for vehicles.
The site of the second massive landslide that occurred in December, for which the company was forced to build a bypass for vehicles, has also been cleared, and this section of the road will be open in the future.
This is the third massive collapse of slopes since the inauguration and opening of the road, which are caused as a result of rainfall but also by the fact that we are dealing with a delicate clay terrain that in cases of heavy rainfall causes such landslides.
Engineers say that so far no other dangerous areas have been identified, but another inspection of the entire 3rd lot will be carried out.
