Analyst Ben Andoni has commented on recent events in the field of politics in the country. Starting from the latest development, Trump's official invitation to Albania to participate in the Peace Board, a transitional structure that will govern Gaza after the end of the war, Andoni spoke about two sides of the coin.
The analyst referred to the allusions that Albania will host Palestinians who will leave their country, which will be rebuilt, and to Albania's good impact at the table with other world leaders.
"I believe that it is in our interests and the fact that Albania is part of the agenda should make us see it positively. Albania's weight there is almost negligible. We need to discuss whether we will become the bearer of another community again. Those 1 billion dollars depend on what they will be used for. Turkey carries an extraordinary weight, of immigration, of war. I see Albania's part as connected to the consequences of this project. The first is with the displacement of Palestinians and the second is how we will create opportunities for them," Andoni told "Report TV".
Ben Andoni supported the Prime Minister's statement to increase the number of lawmakers to 100 from the 140 currently in the Assembly. The analyst refers this need to the demographic situation in Albania, where areas almost abandoned by residents have as few as 4 MPs.
"I have been appealing for a long time that this assembly cannot bear a large burden. First, some of the deputies who are there, not only in this legislature, are non-existent. We have seen their weak contribution in the committees. The demographic and territorial composition of the country has also changed. Our country had about 2,400,000 inhabitants, while there are other territorial areas that have been emptied. Is it possible that other regions have so many deputies? And the DP, when it receives its benefits, will support this. Rama and Berisha seem to be tired of administering such a large number of legislators. I think that producing deputies where the territorial unit does not correspond to the demographic one is excessive," said the analyst.
Meanwhile, the analyst said that changing the Constitution to divide the Assembly into a Senate and a House of Representatives is excessive. According to Andoni, this form of organization functions in consolidated countries and with integrity.
"It takes external influence, which is constantly very dominant, to show us that this constitutional reform is excessive. You can go as far as the reduction, which is normal, but you can't go to such a degree, first of all because the legislators have not shown any high cultural level to separate the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Senate is made for countries that are consolidated due to the age of independence, due to the integrity they have. Our country does not have this," he said.
Ben Andoni also commented on the situation in the DP. He said that Saliji should have more people on his side to show representation and vision for the first reform, and on the other hand, Sali Berisha himself is not giving up on leading the DP.
