The first 16 immigrants who arrived at the port of Shengjin this morning have been subjected to registration procedures by the Italian authorities, which operate in open camps in Albania.
From the proceedings, it was found that only 14 of them should be sent to Gjadër, since 2 refugees turned out to be minors, and therefore they should return to Italy to start the asylum procedures there.
This is because in the agreement made between Albania and Italy, it is specified that only adult men from safe countries will be treated in Albania, all other vulnerable categories will be treated in Italy.
We recall that around 10:00, in groups of four, the migrants disembarked from the ship accompanied by Italian police forces. They described on foot the short distance of a few tens of meters from the entrance of the center set up by the Italian authorities inside the port of Shengjin.
Here they immediately underwent medical checks, while they were offered clothes and food. Then the identification procedure started.
