Lawyer Romeo Kara said on "Ora e Fundit" that the events of January 21 constitute a "state murder" that must be investigated, also bringing to attention the Strasbourg decisions.
Kara said that the prosecution has identified the points and collected evidence, while the expectation is that figures such as Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha will be called as defendants.
The lawyer also accused of destroying evidence, including the server issue, and of open protection by the government at the time, while noting that the investigation has so far been truncated.
Kara stressed that a broader prosecution could bring up other names from the "government pyramid" and that at least some people who have damaged evidence could face accountability.
"January 21st is a murder and a tragedy that must be solved. We and Strasbourg have concluded that it is a state murder that must be solved. For this, the defendants Berisha and Basha will be taken into custody. The prosecution has determined the points and has evidence that an event of his took place. Now it will clarify the details. I think that those who destroyed the evidence have taken into account that they will receive a lesser sentence. I think it will be difficult, but not impossible.
At least those who destroyed the evidence will be brought to justice. We are dealing with murder. Let's see what conclusions the prosecution will draw from these investigations. Evidence has been destroyed, we have the case of servers and many others. The prosecution has been prohibited from taking evidence. There was an open defense by the government of the time against the people who participated in these murders. It was a truncated investigation. I do not believe that Berisha will be charged at this time.
"I think there will be a wider circle, more people will be called, from the governing pyramid. If Berisha does not hold the protest, it is up to him to vacate the chair. He uses the protests to take power and for any political movement," said lawyer Kara.
