Artan Hoxha has spoken about the tragic event in Great Britain, where 27-year-old Leonard Farruku ended his life on a ship that houses asylum seekers, until the moment they receive an answer to their request.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Hoxha stated that the Albanian government had no reaction to this event. Likewise, the government did not react until about a month ago, when another Albanian asylum seeker, Alfred Dosku, committed suicide.
"Like the case of Leonard Farrk who killed himself, Alfred Dosku was 37 years old when he killed himself, before he was returned from Britain.
After the agreement was made on December 13 between Rama and Sunak for the deportation of Albanians, two groups of lawyers came to me from Britain who had set the human rights organizations in motion. They were interested, does Albania really offer security. They came to see some areas, where most of the immigrants were from. Did Albania have the opportunity to offer these guarantees that Rama had given to Sunak?
They were convinced and said that we will present this report to the authorities, that Albania does not have the capacities.
In this particular case, as in the first event as in the second, no one from the Albanian authorities speaks. The same happens to Albanians who are killed in the prisons of Greece or Italy.
Rama talks about global politics, the events in Gaza, Russia, the humanitarian crisis, meanwhile we have a real problem, we have almost 40% of the population abroad. A good part of them are without documents and have these problems, Hoxha said.
