Citizens who participated in the 38th protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office once again showed up with banners and direct messages addressed to the government and the political class. In addition to the speeches and calls from the protest, the slogans written on the banners also attracted attention, which conveyed criticism of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the opposition and the institutions.
One of the most prominent banners read "Poetry does not replace responsibility," while another stated "The Director's verses are beautiful. Reality is not," criticizing, according to the protesters, the contrast between political rhetoric and the situation in the country.
The protest also included messages related to the 4 million euro fund for Kanye West's concert. One banner read: "This guy gets 4 million euros, my parents have 2 jobs. The state doesn't pay for my surgeries," comparing this decision to the economic and social difficulties of citizens.
Protesters also displayed banners with messages such as "38 days. Still here," emphasizing the continuity of the protest, while another carried the inscription "This land has waited for centuries. Don't lose it in one generation."
Among the banners was also an appeal to the United States Embassy, which read: "I appeal to the American Embassy, come out with a statement. Are you with the Albanian people or with Rama and Berisha?".
Another banner demanded "Cancel Law 21/2024," while some protests were also accompanied by images and messages in English, which criticized the government and the political situation in the country.
In addition to the banners, continuous calls from citizens were heard throughout the rally, including "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "The end has come for you", "Revolution", "Rama resigns", "The Albania of youth, not the party" and "Down with dictatorship".
The protest took place for the 38th consecutive day in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, while organizers and participants declared that they will continue the rallies until their demands for political change and holding the ruling class accountable are met.
