The intense rainfall of the last few hours has led to an increase in the level of the Ishëm River.
The water in the flooded fields for about 72 hours continues to rise, worsening the situation on the ground. Thousands of hectares of planted agricultural land are under water in several villages in the lowland of the Krujë district, including Bilaj, Murqinë, Mallkuç, Miliskaj and Gramëz.
The situation continues to worsen as the water level rises by the hour and the drainage channels do not perform their function, because they have not been cleaned for more than three decades.
Residents say that no institution has gone to see the situation closely. About 20 families have remained isolated, mainly in the village of Murqinë, where the two end neighborhoods are completely surrounded by water.
The road connecting these neighborhoods to the rest of the area is covered by over 50 cm of water, while the water level continues to rise.
